At Accredo, you'll have access to personalized care and support from pharmacists and nurses specially trained in your condition.
If Your Prescription Is Being Transferred to Accredo
In some situations, your specialty medication prescription may be transferred to Accredo from another pharmacy. Once your prescription is ready for order scheduling, Accredo will contact you to arrange delivery.
A prescription may not be automatically transferred if:
- The prescription is expired or nearing expiration.
- No refills remain on the prescription.
- The medication is a controlled substance.
- You have a new specialty medication prescription.
- The medication has limited distribution requirements.
- The medication is subject to special government regulations, such as Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy (REMS) requirements.
Filling Through Accredo for the First Time
What to expect when filling your prescription with Accredo:
- Once your prescription is ready for order scheduling, an Accredo patient care advocate will contact you to arrange free delivery on a date that works for you. Medications are shipped with any special handling they require, including refrigeration when needed.
- If you receive copay assistance, please have that information available so it can be transferred or applied as appropriate.
- Because your medication may be coming from a new pharmacy, you may notice differences in packaging, prescription labels, and educational materials.
