Aldurazyme® (laronidase) – PRODUCT INFORMATION

ALDURAZYME is the first enzyme replacement therapy to specifically treat the underlying cause of MPS I. The main ingredient in ALDURAZYME is a highly purified protein identical to a naturally occurring form of the human enzyme alpha-L-iduronidase.

ALDURAZYME replaces the missing enzyme alpha-L-iduronidase, treating the underlying cause of MPS I. By providing the body with a source of alpha-L-iduronidase, ALDURAZYME restores sufficient enzyme activity to break down GAG buildup.

ALDURAZYME has been shown to help people with MPS I by improving lung function, improving functional capacity and endurance (e.g., walking ability) and reducing the size of the enlarged liver.
