Increlex® (mecasermin [rDNA origin])

Overview | Product information | Accredo services | Contact team

Increlex is used in the treatment of short stature caused by severe primary IGF-1 deficiency.

Primary IGF-1 deficiency (Primary IGFD) occurs in children who are very short for their age because their bodies do not make enough IGF-1, a naturally occurring hormone that plays a central role in growth and metabolism. Primary IGFD can be caused by abnormalities of either the growth hormone receptor or the growth hormone signaling pathway.

Increlex is recombinant human IGF-1 formulated as a liquid and administered by subcutaneous injection.
