Indications:
Rheumatoid arthritis
Humira is indicated for reducing signs and symptoms, inducing major clinical response, inhibiting the progression of structural damage, and improving physical function in adult patients with moderate to severely active rheumatoid arthritis. Humira can be initiated in combination with methotrexate (MTX) or other disease-modifying antirheumatic drugs (DMARDs) or alone.
Juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA)
Humira is used to reduce the signs and symptoms of JIA in children 4 years of age and older. Humira can be used alone or with MTX or with certain other medicines.
Psoriatic arthritis
Humira is indicated for reducing signs and symptoms of active arthritis in patients with psoriatic arthritis. Humira can be initiated in combination with DMARDs or alone.
Ankylosing spondylitis
Humira is indicated for reducing signs and symptoms in patients with active ankylosing spondylitis.
Plaque psoriasis
Humira is used to treat moderate to severe chronic (lasting a long time) plaque psoriasis in adults who are under the ongoing care of a physician, have the condition in many areas of their body, and who may benefit from taking injections or pills (systemic therapy) or phototherapy (treatment using ultraviolet light alone or with pills). Before considering Humira, your physician will determine if other systemic therapies are medically less appropriate.
Crohn’s disease
Humira is used to reduce the signs and symptoms of moderate to severe Crohn's disease (CD) in adults who have not responded well to conventional treatments. Humira is also indicated for these adults who have lost response to or are unable to tolerate infliximab.
