Aldurazyme® (laronidase) - product information

Aldurazyme® (laronidase)

Overview | Product information | Accredo services | Contact team

Aldurazyme is the first enzyme replacement therapy to specifically treat the underlying cause of MPS I. The main ingredient in Aldurazyme is a highly purified protein identical to a naturally occurring form of the human enzyme alpha-L-iduronidase.

Aldurazyme replaces the missing enzyme alpha-L-iduronidase, treating the underlying cause of MPS I. By providing the body with a source of alpha-L-iduronidase, Aldurazyme restores sufficient enzyme activity to break down GAG buildup.

Aldurazyme has been shown to help people with MPS I by improving lung function, functional capacity, and endurance (e.g., walking ability) and by reducing the size of the enlarged liver.
